5.1 Parental Consent Requirement

Before a child under 13 (students in grades K–5) may access any platform features, we require verifiable parental consent. The consent process works as follows:

When a student selects a K–5 grade level, they are prompted to provide a parent or guardian's email address.
A consent email is sent to that address containing a unique, time-limited link (valid for 7 days).
The parent or guardian must click the link and affirmatively approve access before the student can use the platform.
Until consent is approved, the student's account is placed in a pending state with no access to courses, AI tutoring, or community features.

5.2 Information Collected from Children

For children under 13, we collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the educational service:

Account information: Name (from OAuth login), grade level, and profile avatar (optional).
Learning data: Lesson progress, quiz scores, and achievement badges — used solely to track educational progress.
AI tutor interactions: Conversation logs with JOY are stored to improve response quality and are never used for advertising.
Parent contact: The parent's email address collected during the consent process.

We do not collect from children under 13: precise geolocation, behavioral advertising data, social media identifiers, or any information beyond what is listed above.

5.3 Parental Rights

Review: Request a copy of all personal information collected from your child.
Correct: Request correction of inaccurate information.
Delete: Request deletion of your child's account and all associated data. Deletion is completed within 30 days.
